Vampires! Horror!  was conceived on a road trip from Minneapolis to Wisconsin Dells in the summer of 1999.  Co-creators Beau Hays and Dennis Curley hatched this campy story about a small Midwestern town and its inhabitants overrun by vampires (following an ancient prophecy), soldiers (pursuing a 200-year-old secret war against the vampires), a nosy reporter, and a hapless toymaker and his very pregnant wife.

The songs and the script followed over the next few years, and in 2004 the boys presented their first reading of the show.  Two more readings followed, and Vampires! Horror!  saw its first fully-staged production in October of 2010 (presented by Table Salt Productions).

Local filmmaker and longtime friend Dave Carey was in the audience, and proposed to the boys that they get together and put it all down on film.  "Vampires! Horror! — The Motion Picture" was born!
